Trump Calls Loved Ones of Injured National Guard Soldiers to the White House

President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Devastating Incident

Specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a attack on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Gatherings across West Virginia have been held in their remembrance.

Presidential Offer

The president explained he’s discussed a White House visit for the families of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump addressed reporters. “And in the same way with him, no matter the outcome.”

Public Support

Mourners came together over the past few days at the high school in the state to honor Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to aid public safety in the capital.

Remembering Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the kind of student that teachers wished for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, stated to the media. “She was kind, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”

Memorial plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Legal Steps and Policy Changes

Authorities have charged a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The event led the Trump administration to suspend asylum applications and cease issuing entry permits to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, according to the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi informed a news show that she also intended to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a MP with excellence, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had bravery,” the governor told the crowd at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
